What Documents Are Required for a Visa Application?

Whether you’re applying for a tourist visa, visiting family, or traveling for business, your application must include the following:

1. Personal Documents:

• A signed passport (valid for at least 6 months with blank visa pages)

• Two (2) recent passport-sized photos (4×6 cm, taken within the last 6 months, white background, no headwear, white shirt)

• Completed visa application form (Form 48R) with accurate information and matching signature as in passport

• Notarized copy of all pages of your household registration book

• Notarized copy of birth certificate

• Original CV with local government confirmation (translated into English)

• Proof of marital status: single/married/divorced

• Detailed family background declaration form

2. Financial Documents:

• Notarized copy of your personal bank statements from the last 3 months

• Bank confirmation of current account balance (minimum USD 5,000 – 7,000)

• Supporting documents of other assets (land use rights, vehicles, etc.)

3. Employment Documents:

If employed in public or administrative sector:

• Decision of recruitment or appointment

• Official leave of absence for travel (in Vietnamese with notarized English translation or in English)

• Work confirmation letter

If employed in state-managed business:

• Recruitment decision, appointment letter, or labor contract

• Business license or company establishment certificate

• Work confirmation letter

If working for a private company (LLC):

• If you’re the business owner: business license and tax receipts for the last 3 months

• If you’re an employee: labor contract, company’s business license, and work confirmation letter

If retired:

• Retirement decision or pension book

Note: For minors (under 18) traveling alone or with others, a notarized authorization letter from both parents is required, with their signatures verified by local authorities.
