Discover the Marvels of Angkor – From Angkor Thom to Angkor Wat

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your day with a journey through Angkor Thom, also known as “Big Angkor” — a 3-square-kilometer walled and moated royal city, which served as the last capital of the Angkorian Empire.

Enter through the majestic South Gate and explore the iconic Bayon Temple, known for its massive stone faces and intricate design. Although it may appear as an architectural maze, this masterpiece evolved over more than a century, reflecting the changes in the empire’s spiritual beliefs.

Next, visit the Terrace of the Elephants, a 2.5-meter-tall, 300-meter-long ceremonial platform adorned with detailed carvings of elephants and mythological creatures. Nearby, explore the Baphuon Temple, a grand temple mountain, and the Royal Palace Area including Phimeanakas, an impressive rite temple built in the form of a sandstone pyramid.
